Requirements

macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
A Mac with Apple Silicon or Intel.
Liquid glass and the notch panel are designed for macOS 26 on a MacBook with a notch.

Installation

Open the .dmg file you downloaded.
Drag faro to the Applications folder.
Open it from Applications. faro appears in the menu bar.

Permissions

Every permission is optional and macOS asks the first time you use the feature: Accessibility (full keyboard lock and auto-paste), Automation (Finder, Music and Spotify), Calendars, Bluetooth, Notifications and the Downloads and Desktop folders (only for download and screenshot notices, off by default).

Verify the download

The file’s SHA-256 checksum should be:

To check it in Terminal:

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/faro-1.6.0.dmg

Or build it yourself

You need Xcode 26 or later.

The code will be available once the repository opens.

Uninstall

Quit faro, move the app to the Trash and, if you want to delete its data, remove the ~/Library/Application Support/faro folder.
